n00bI washed my hands in the sink of the Greyhound station, once, twice, three times. It seemed like every time I rinsed off that purple disinfectant ‘soap’, my hands were sweaty again. I knew it wasn’t just the August heat in the bowels of an un-air-conditioned bus station. I was more nervous than my first boy-girl party, more sketched than my first dance. Teenagers Eat Their OwnIt was a damn good Friday night.  The DJ's table started to hemorrhage confetti, the rainbow colours reminding me of where I was. As if the fifty or so shirtless men and Madonna blaring through the soundsystem didn't give a big enough hint. So... I did not win that danged Three Day Novel contest.
But... I did get tons of great feedback from friends and others. You know who you are, and thank you so much. You've helped me to perfect my most substantial work.
And... now I have a stable of likeable characters.
